Youthhub Africa, Christian Aid launch Basic Education Performance Ranking

In a bid to highlight the performance of public schools across the thirty-six (36) states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Youthhub Africa with support from Christian Aid recently launched the Education Performance Ranking.

Mir Rotimi Olawale, the Executive Director of YouthHubAfrica and Mr. Victor Arokoyo of Christian Aid, while giving their remarks in the presence of key stakeholders in the education sector including representatives from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and other partner organizations highlighted the importance of the Education Ranking and its potential impact on the education sector.

The launch of the Education Ranking according to Youthhub Africa was an important milestone, as it marked a step towards ensuring better educational outcomes in the country.

The performance ranking which was unveiled by Blessing Tarfa, the partner consultant who gave a detailed explanation of its methodology, which involved an analysis of several factors, including access to education, quality of teaching, and learning outcomes.

The ranking was based on a comprehensive data collection process, which involved the use of surveys and other relevant sources of data.

The launch of the Education Ranking generated a lot of interest and excitement from participants, from the panel session to the question and answer with many expressing their appreciation for the initiative.

Participants, therefore, agreed that the Education Ranking was a much-needed tool that would help to promote healthy competition among educational institutions, thereby driving improvements in the quality of education.

There was also a recognition of the challenges facing the education sector, particularly with regard to funding and infrastructure.

While the launch of the Education Ranking was a significant milestone, there was a general consensus among participants that more needed to be done to address the challenges facing the education sector.

Several participants highlighted the need for increased funding for education, as well as the need for better policies and strategies that would improve access to education for all.

“Launch of the Education ranking was a significant event that marked a step towards ensuring better educational outcomes in the country.

“The Education Ranking provides a valuable tool for measuring the quality of education, and promoting healthy competition among educational institutions,” Youthhub Africa stated.

It however stressed the need for more efforts address the challenges facing the education sector, and stakeholders must work together to ensure that all children have access to quality education.
