The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has launched the 2024 Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month, which takes place annually in September. The theme for this year’s awareness month is “SGBV? Not On My Watch!”

At a press briefing in Ikeja, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, represented by the Acting Solicitor-General, Hameed Oyenuga, outlined the various activities planned for the month. These include a sensitization walk, symposium, campus activation, and advocacy walk, among others.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for collective effort to end sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the state, noting that the theme is based on the compelling need for Lagosians to realize that ending SGBV requires the support and collaboration of all members of society.
